It’s that time of year again when our learners make pet beds for the animals in the care of the RSPCA Derby. For the third consecutive year we have given our support the local RSPCA shelter in Derby to try to give their dogs and cats awaiting a new home a comfy bed over the Christmas period.
Using old jumpers and sweaters, our learners have worked to seal the neck lines then used the arms as the pet bed before filling with non toxic stuffing. In total 20 beds were made and created, our record number to date! We hope they help to keep the animals comfy and cosy until they find new homes. Well done everyone!
To echo the advice from the RSCPA for anyone thinking of giving a pet as a Christmas gift, remember a pet is a lifetime of commitment to offer care, love, attention and to keep them well and healthy. If you are thinking of buying a pet for Christmas this year contact your local RSPCA branch to get advice.
