The latest inspired creation to roll off our learner’s production line is a New York inspired noticeboard, made by Mark undertaking our Level 1 Certificate in Art, Design & Creative Studies.
Developed using stencils and combining multiple stencils and air brushing techniques, Mark has truly captured the sense and feeling of the city that never sleeps in his work. At the top of his work are iconic skyline landmarks and below the Statue of Liberty together with the city name.
Despite at first not being certain in what direction his stencil print was going, I’m sure you will agree that the end result is a superb and unique noticeboard equipped with rope ready to hang important notes or correspondence from.
The production process show above shows how Mark developed a series of stencils to make a reverse stencil to protect the white canvas background from the black paint. Creating the Statue of Liberty was a long and time consuming process but as the stencils were gradually peeled away I’m sure you will agree it was worth every effort.
Mark is now reaching the end of his Level 1 studies and will be progressing onto further study at Level 2 i the coming weeks. Once his Level 1 studies are complete, the New York noticeboard will be heading to it’s new home in the kitchen of Mark’s home.
