JOHN SMEDLEY Apprenticeship in Fashion & Textiles (2 posts)

We have opportunities for 2 Apprenticeships in Fashion & Textiles to work within our 1st Make Up department. The roles will learn the basic operation of the sewing machinery to enable them to seam garments ensuring the correct quality and safety standards are met. Apprentices will be trained to operate our cups seaming machines amongst other sewing machinery available. The Company provide World Class knitwear and have the Royal Warrant of Approval for manufacturing fine knitwear.

Successful applicants will receive an Intermediate Apprenticeship in Fashion & Textiles including a NVQ Level 2 in Manufacturing Textile Products; a Level 2 Technical Certificate and Functional Skills in Maths & English (subject to prior qualifications).

The Apprentice positions last for 18 months. The weekly wage offered will be £136.50 (apprenticeship minimum to start) with working hours of 39 hours per week. Working times are Monday – Friday 7.30am – 4.30pm with a 15 minute morning break and a 30 minute unpaid lunch break.

JOHN SMEDLEY Apprenticeship in Knitwear Operations (3 posts)

We have opportunities for 3 Apprenticeships within our Knitting Operations Team. The roles will learn the basic operation and mechanics of the machinery and will be trained to use brand new cleaning machinery that cleans the knitting machine heads and improves the overall function. The Company provides World Class Knitwear and have the Royal Warrant of Approval for manufacturing fine knitwear.

Successful applicants will receive an Advanced Apprenticeship in Fashion & Textiles including a NVQ Level 3 in Manufacturing Textile Products; a Level 3 Technical Certificate and Functional Skills in Maths & English (subject to prior qualifications).

The Apprentice positions last for 24 months. The weekly wage offered will be £136.50 (apprenticeship minimum to start) with working hours of 39 hours per week. Working times are Monday – Friday 7.30am – 4.30pm with a 15 minute morning break and a 30 minute unpaid lunch break.
